Study Notes:

With IBKR Mobile open on your Android phone – let’s open the menu at the top – tap the three horizontal lines.

To view your account information, tap Account from the main menu. The account screen opens with balances displayed.  You can also go directly to the Account screen using the Account icon on the bottom of the screen.

Use the button bar at the top to switch between screens of your account information.

Here you’ll see total Account balances for securities and commodities. Tap the double arrows next to Total in the Balances line at the top of the screen to switch between showing Total amounts for your account, amounts only in the Commodities segment of your account, and amounts only in the Securities segment of your account.

The Margins screen shows current initial, maintenance margin and projected margin requirements.

The Funds screen shows you the state of your account including available funds, buying power and more.

Market Value – shows a total value for all assets by currency (sorted by asset type). Values shown in the Total (in USD) column reflect total value of your account in the account’s base currency. Tap the double arrows next to Total to show values in that currency. Only currencies in which you hold positions will be available.  Swipe up to see the accounts net liquidation value, realized and unrealized P&L.

Tap the menu and open the Account Management section where you can run reports, view portfolio analysis, set market data permissions, view tax forms and trading permissions.  I’ll tap Activity Statements to view my performance summary. Tap the sections and select Run. You can open each section by tapping the arrow – as you can see here.   Tap the question mark icon for explanations about this section of the report.  When you are finished viewing, tap the arrow on the top left.

With IBKR Mobile, you can view current positions along with key account metrics like Daily P&L and Market Value.

Tap the Portfolio icon at the bottom of the screen. In the top section of the screen see your account, Daily P&L and Net Liquidation value. Daily P&L is your Profit and Loss for the day. See margin information, unrealized and realized P&L for your account below.  In the main part of the screen see your list of positions.

If you tap the three vertical dots on the top right, you can convert currency, close positions and manage your column settings. Tap the checkboxes below to show or hide any of the screen options, such as Zero Positions.

To manage the column headers, tap the three vertical dots again. Here’s where you can rearrange the position of the columns by tapping the three horizontal lines. Or just tap the checkmark to deselect a column that is currently displayed.

Tap Add Columns at the bottom to see more columns to choose from. For instance, I can tap Prices and add Change Since Open %.

Go to the main menu to view your FYIs and bulletins by tapping the Notifications icon.  Tap the gear icon to configure the FYI settings. Simply use the slider to select or deselect any of the FYIs settings.

From the main menu, you can access the Trading Assistant which contains a group of notifications that can be set to proactively notify you when user-specified market, account, position and order activities warrant.

Notifications occur in real time, and are sent via email or text, based on your notification settings in Account Management.

The Trading Assistant Status slider displays the status of each notification.  Let’s take a look at the notification settings.

Market Notifications

Threshold boundaries can be set between -5% and 5%. Use the slider to change the boundaries.  You can add more symbols by tapping Add Security/Index.

Account Notifications

Position Notifications

You can also define your notification delivery method.

From the main menu, you can monitor market news, news on instruments in your portfolio. You can search for news or watch Bloomberg TV, RealVision, Traders’ Insight videos and more. Tap Portfolio News to see articles for any symbols you hold in your portfolio. Select any news item to view the article.

Back on the menu screen, you can use iBot to monitor your account and portfolio. You can ask iBot a question by typing it in. For example, type ‘Show Account Balances.’ You’ll see the results display.

Lastly, use the Home icon to view your top portfolio positions, news and market updates. If you want to view more details, just tap the arrow in each section.
