Study Notes:

In this lesson we’ll show you how to access and create watchlists and configure market scanners using Client Portal.

From the Watchlist tab, you can create, name and save watchlists of your own or access various pre-defined market scanners. You can build your own too.

Your saved watchlists are displayed in the column to the left. Scroll down to start a new watchlist, access stock, bond or fund scanners or see an array of the top lists available.

To create a new watchlist, click New Watchlist and enter a name. Begin to enter the symbols you want to monitor, and when done, click Save.

Use the two icons to the upper right of your watchlist to increase and decrease the size of the rows. Use the three dots to the right of those icons to edit the column display.

Use the three dots to the upper right to configure the display by selecting Edit Columns. Expand a category by clicking the arrowhead and choose an item by clicking the “+” sign. When you have made all your selections, click Save to close the window. Your changes will be reflected in the display.

To create a market scanner, select an asset class and select from the category dropdown menu.

Use the additional filters to the right to select stocks between specific prices or by trading volume.

Click Run Scanner to view.

Results may be ranked by clicking on any column header where you see an up/down arrowhead. Use the Refresh Results button to update the display. And if you like a specific scanner, use the Save button.

Build as many scanners and watchlists as you want to help you test your investment ideas and strategies over time.
