Once your account is approved and opened, you may add users and grant them access to a subset of Advisor Portal functions. This includes granting access to functions for one or more sub accounts.
In the Advisor Portal, access Settings and Account Settings. View the Users & Access Rights panel on the bottom right, then click the Configure icon.
The Users panel shows those individuals who have been added to your account, as well as their relationship to the primary account holder. The User Roles panel shows the user roles that you have defined.
You can add, clone, modify and delete users using the set of icons to the right.
To add a user:
Click the + sign.
Enter information about the user, including the username, password, name, relationship to the primary account holder and contact info. Take note of the username and password created as you will need to provide this information to the individual being added.
On the next screen, select a user role, if you have previously saved one. User roles automatically apply a set of configured access rights to the new user.
For this example, let’s create a new profile.
On this screen you can add new user rights to access a specific group of functions:
- User Settings,
- Trading Settings,
- Reporting Settings,
- Account Settings and
- Client Management settings which are rights for functions related to managing client accounts.
The last screen in this process lets you review all of the information about the new user, including access rights.
Rights that have been assigned to the new user are shown checked and in green; rights that have not been assigned to the new user are shown crossed out.
Next – you’ll have to verify your identity by adding a confirmation number that was sent via email to you.
If you have not received a confirmation number, click Request Confirmation Number to have a new confirmation number sent to your email address.
A User Role contains a set of access rights to functions in the Advisor Portal that you can apply to new users without having to grant individual access rights across several screens. This will save time.
Assign a name to the role you wish to create and click Continue. Select the Settings Access for that role.
You can grant access for multiple items, such as features in:
- User Settings
- Trading Access
- Reporting Access
- Funding Access
- Account Settings
- And lastly Client Management Access
Review the settings and verify your identity by entering the confirmation number that was sent via email.
