This tax course is a general overview of US Federal taxes for traders and investors.
Traders and investors can learn about a host of tax-related concerns – whether a U.S., or non-U.S., resident. Course material available on Traders’ Academy covers taxes that concern dividends, capital gains and losses, net investment income tax, tax treatment of traditional and Roth individual retirement accounts (IRAs), as well as tax-related topics for those who reside outside of the U.S., such as Form W-8BEN, tax treaties, and more.
This course puts retirement plans into historical perspective and aims to help the student understand what contributions can be made to different types of plans. You will learn about what the IRS permits as allowable types of investments into different plan types, as well as rules about IRA beneficiaries.
In this series, we will look at US taxes for non-US individuals. Definitions are critical in this area of US tax and we will start with them.
